Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe type of muscular dystrophy that primarily affects boys.

One of the most common and severe forms of Muscular Dystrophy it usually effects boys in their early childhood. The condition starts with muscle weakness in the thighs and pelvis which  then spreads to the arms. People with the condition will usually only live into their 20s or 30s
